Preventing child abuse is one of the most basic aspects of American Indian culture. Nevertheless, child abuse occurs. This page contains resources to help you become involved in preventing child abuse through grass-roots efforts in your community.

Tribal Directory

When contacting a tribe to find out if a child is a member of the tribe or is eligible for membership, ask to be directed to the Tribal Enrollment office. Questions related to jurisdiction, intervention, relative placements, and other ICWA concerns should be directed to the Social Service or ICWA office.
