With over 4,000 books, articles, and movies, the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA) maintains the most comprehensive repository for information on Indian child welfare issues in the country. Over 800 of these catalogued entries contain some child welfare, child abuse, or neglect information that is culturally relevant and useful to the American Indian population. Many of the works in the library focus on either improving services to Indian children or addressing the need for improving the current Indian child welfare system.

Indian child welfare program staff, tribes, individuals, and organizations may call us at any time with a specific question or request for information on a wide range of child and family topics. Our full-time librarian responds to daily requests for information and is available for intensive research of the NICWA library for an additional fee.
