Crystal Wabnum (Kickapoo-Enrolled/Prairie Band Potawatomi/Cherokee/Mexican) was born and adopted in Topeka, KS and is a recent graduate of Fort Lewis College, where she majored in sociology and minored in history. During her undergraduate studies, Crystal interned with National Voice and the November 2 campaign as the Native American Organizing Intern for the 2004 election cycle. She worked with the Center for Civic Participation as a Research Fellow the following year. Crystal is building upon her organizing work with American Indian communities as the newest Americorps VISTA Membership Coordinator for the National Indian Child Welfare Association.
