Isla J. Dane (Navajo) has been with NICWA since 2005. She brings with her a rich blending of training, education, volunteer experience and professional experience in the areas of fund raising, event coordination, grass roots organizing, cultural competency, writing for journals, and working with people with disabilities. This experience is carried forward in her role now serving as the primary lead for NICWA’s Annual Conference and Training Institutes. A busy mother of three, she still takes time to do volunteer work in the community in the areas of AIDS and children’s mental health.
