Lacee Shepard is an enrolled Odawa Tribal citizen and a proud Michigander. After earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism, she went on to complete a Master of Arts in Strategic Communications from Michigan State University. Lacee has spent over ten years in the communications field, using storytelling to support public services and strengthen community connection. She later leveraged these skills in a new way with a PNW Native art organization, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with Tribal communities across Turtle Island.
Lacee joined the NICWA team as communications director in July 2025 and is excited to contribute to their important work.
