With over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, Vilma joined NICWA’s fiscal team in 2017, where she has become a valuable addition that supports the fiscal director in audits, budget process, financial analysis, reporting, and training the fiscal coordinator, while also developing systems and manuals to ensure smooth operations. Vilma extends her expertise beyond the fiscal department, which impacts other departments by being a support in decision making, researching, analyzing data, and providing accurate reports. Vilma shares NICWA values of protecting children and keeping them with their Native families and communities.
Outside of work, Vilma loves spending time with family and friends enjoying nature. Vilma actively volunteers through her church’s finance committee, sings with the choir, and participates in community outreach programs.
